It's hard to say, this is also Neck through and all my other basses are bolt-on. So any differences in resonance could be for any number of reasons. That being said, I'd had a couple Warwicks in the past that also have a similar 2 piece bridge, and obviously Alembic famously uses the 2 piece...

Mike Kerr Signature Bass Problems! Fender Did it Again!!!

So, I finally decided to measure my bass to understand why I had to shift the strings so far just to get them to align. I can’t say I’m shocked, but I took measurements and confirmed my bridge was drilled off-center. I drilled out the existing screw holes and filled them with maple plugs. Now...

One option, if you have crosshairs or another visible marker to indicate where the punch should hit, you can use an optical punch

New Fender Limited Edition Mike Kerr Jaguar Bass

So based on all the reports of people not being able to get their high G strings to sound strong with the bridge pickup, and how even with my aftermarket Hipshot bridge I had to shift all of the saddles as far towards the bass side as they’d go, I finally decided to remove the bridge entirely...

Fender (and Squier) wide range humbucker - what's going on under there?

So I finally took my Mike Kerr bass apart and looked at what's going on with the Neck WR Humbucker. It was wired in series and measured over 20K DCR. It was wired with 4 conductor wiring so I was able to split the Red and White wires. Each coil measured 12K DCR exactly. So I decided to actually...

The only real option would be maybe an un-notched Badass 2 that you notch yourself to the correct spacing. It’s frustrating that most of hipshots fender bridges are made for 19mm spacing when most Jazz Bass pickups are designed around 20mm (aka vintage) specs

Ultimate No-load Ungrounded Blend Pot (Pics!)

I asked the Lusithand folks if they offer a version of their preamp where the knobs are separate from the boards, they didn’t quite grasp why I wanted that. Tried to explain the weird layout with the Jaguar bass but it’s pretty clear they don’t have any plans to offer more flexible versions of...

    The Fender Jaguar Club

Instead of the Hipshot style A, consider their vintage bent bridge for fender with 20mm width (StyleA and StyleB are both 19mm which doesn’t align as well with the magnets on the jazz bass).

Ultimate No-load Ungrounded Blend Pot (Pics!)

So, I did the experiment with a 100k MN (technically it was 90k/90k) and I still found it to be “mostly” center focused. It had a bit more range than the MN 250k. Then I replaced it with an EMG ABC active blend. Couldn’t be happier. Most of the sound change is still in the center quite frankly...
