All good advice here, will check to see about wires touching the speaker cone. Will also try lighting moving the speaker and listen for any scratching. If you looked a t the photos, there are some scratch marks on the inside of the voice cone, but I think I cleared that out. So not sure what...

Thank you for the reply, I have a mix bag of vintage stuff. I have a Peavey Mark IV, a GK 4x10, Crate BE-215 that was modified to a 1-15" and a Peavey 115. Don't know what the Peavey 115 Ohm wise yet but the Crate is 4 ohms and the GK is 8 Ohms. Its hard to find the fact sheets on these cabs...
