Agreed I noticed theres a lot of PJ players that look at a PJ as a "Super P" instead of a PJ: concentrating on the P and eeking in just enough J for extra articulation, when needed, without upsetting the P too much (always comes with compromise). I believe you do this as well, am I correct?.....

You can try to argue this with me all day long, I'm not buying it: on my PJs the soloed P on it works as a P bass in any practical situation. End of story for me....for others, maybe not.

Youre just making my argument about too many variables. In this case, swapping pickups and rewiring.. .....see what you did there? 2db at 2K is certainly noticeable but that could also just be the characteristics of the basses you used, pickups, strings, etc: you'd have to repeat the experiment...
