Which strings are you using? Maybe try using brighter strings first? The bass on the track doesn't sound that bright to me...

I started using my 1505MS exclusively in the past couple of months, but before that, I have been using my 1000S. I installed some DR DDT-55s on it when I found myself wanting more brightness and string tautness. Worked quite well for me.
