I made a tube out of 3/4" PVC with a glued cap on one end, the other end unglued. Would remove strings, insert into tube with denatured alcohol and let then sit overnight, take out wipe off, etc...Seemed to work pretty well. Saved the alcohol too! Also need to note, these are double ball end...

Almost 58 years old and getting back to playing bass after about a 25 year lay off. Used to play with a bunch of buddies, mostly garage stuff, but we had fun...but then everyone "grew" up, had kids, families, etc... but I'm still interested in learning/re-learning!!! Seems like a lot of things...
