I run an Ashly pre amp and other outboard gear in my rack and power it with a newer light weight Peavey power amp. Question, does anybody find a difference between using a power amp such as a Peavy, Crown etc vs the power from a head like a 4 pro.

I have a rig where I alternate between Ashly pre amps. I use, an EQ, comp powered by a newer light weight Peavey power amp. I'm a guy from the 70's that used SVT's and Acoustic 360's and I love that sound and Ashly pre's are very cool, but my question is, what is the best power source, Peavey...
