I didn't I was playing four string for my band for a couple of years and we all agreed that four sting really wasn't going to cut it we needed more low end.

Yeah right now I play a squier jazz so a thinner neck would be the best thing for me thanks to all of you guys.

Ok guys my band needs my to start playing five string. I have tried out many five string basses and I want to know what else is out there for under 1000 that is great for rock. All the basses I have tried are good but i don't want to miss out on a great bass. Thanks, John
