Thanks. I was getting buzzing when just plucking lightly on the strings, especially the steel. those were buzzing badly on the notes closer to the nut with gentle plucking (no slapping). Based on that, it's probably better for me to modify the nut first?

Thanks for your replies. I don't mind filing down the my current bridge grooves carefully to get the action lower. I had read somewhere that people go with 10mm gap at the fingerboard edge or sometimes less for psychobilly slapping.. hmmm.... am I on the right track? I will file down the nut...
