What did you do with the passive/active switch and the mid range selector ?

Maybe time to find another band. I have played bass for 40 years and in that time only ever broken one string (spare set in gig bag) and never had a bass fail on me. Maybe because I look after my instrument as it is my earner. Playing in a band should be fun and not give you the aggro you seem...
