i was wondering about that-- I think there are some good options just in case the fretless conv. sucks. I firmly believe i'm getting a really good deal on it, so i wouldn't feel terribly bad about putting a few more $ into it.

I am looking for a fretless-- I am concerned that the conversion might not be great ( all will become clear soon), and thought "last resort/ save the bass" kinda thing..

I'm beginning to sense a theme here! -- Even though it was professionally converted and had multiple layers of lacquer, the sound probably won't be very good. HAs anyone gone the other way, and converted a conversion back to frets? Thanks for the reply!

Good info-- thanks! I have a '92 Precision plus-- my understanding is that they have a jazz neck, and I love the way it plays. So i was looking for a fretless jazz and this one came up! Gonna give it a shot!

It does. I'm thinking the price is low because of the fretless conversion-- maybe not so desirable for most. I was really looking for a fretless US JAZZ in mystic red or candy apple, and the owner saw my ISO on kijiji.

hey-- thanks very much. The owner said the frets were pulled professionally, lacquered properly and is good to go. I'm going to need to try it out of course. I'm thinking it is abalone, but the pictures aren't great-- I can see some different colours in other pics of it. cheers for the replies

Hey, thanks for the reply. I think the picture itself may be the problem w/ the identity of the inlay. How about the controls consisting of 3 dials instead of 4 or 5?
