That 760 looks great I owned one for several years and an 1987 active model, super playable basses.

    Ibanez basses, 1979-1987

Loving these reviews, the rb650 also came in black with a white scratch plate, seem to be a bit rarer than the white or burgundy finishes. Google Image Result for https://gbmedia.azureedge.net/usercontent/gear/5733144/p6_up4e5zduk_so.jpg I’m curious to read about the rb960 as it’s eluded me so far.

NBD: 1985 Ibanez Roadstar II RB-850

That's a marine burst RB950, don't see many royal violet RB850's around, mainly black, white and red.

    Ibanez Musician Bass Club

Good luck for your gig next month, is it original music or covers? My tastes are megadeth/Metallica/maiden with loads of 80s thrash in the mix.

What would be a great 1983 birth year bass....

    Aria sb1000 or Ibanez rb924?

Please help me identify - It's mine now

I have owned a couple of rb760s and an rb924. Sounds like the foam under the pickup might need to be replaced which is an easy job. If you can get some sound out of the bridge pickup then I'd make an offer on it.

    Possible NBD- Thoughts?

I have one of these rb851 and a rb850. Great basses with different sounds. I don't think the 851s were exported from Japan at the time. Obviously since then they've been bought up via eBay etc

    1980 Ibanez Roadstar Typical Value?

I think the year of manufacture is between 79 to 82. The first three characters of the serial number are letter representing the month of manufacture followed by 79, 80,81 or 82. I owned an rs924 like this but sold it to buy a Warwick which I traded for another vintage ibanez.

    1980 Ibanez Roadstar Typical Value?

I personally wouldn't buy a modified old roadster bass. I'd wait and buy a more original version. The original dimarzio pickups sound great. What you are buying is a traditional looking bass which is heavy and has little resale value.
