Influences and Teachers

I like bass players who have a sense of melody and timing. Tal Wilkenfeld is currently my favorite. I'm old school, I've never mastered the slapping and pulling style, I don't like the sound. Early influences were McCartney for melodic runs, Peter Cetera of Chicago for the same reason. Stanley Clark for his break out style. Any bass player on a Steely Dan album was always a learning experience. Berry Oakley of the Allman Brothers had the most influence on how I interact with guitar players.
