When I bought this stuff, they had some sanded plywood right next to it for half the price that appeared to be identical except for not being skinned with birch. Probably would have been fine for this project and would have taken a big bite out of the overall cost.

Yeah, I'd go with thinner if I did it again. But there is this...I weigh about 235-240 and often sit on cabs when I play...no chance of breaking these suckers with my fat ass :P

Yeah, I would agree. I wasn't exactly impressed by the stuff. The lamination failing was the big thing, no matter what this 7-ply stuff is supposed to be.
