    53 Precision NBD

Get a pickguard and flip the covers and control plate, and it is pretty much back to form, or just leave it be and enjoy. Nice catch!

Tell me you're old without telling me you're old

Ya know what? I meant to post this in the "Things you don't see anymore" thread, but it fits here too, and kinda proves the point, through my ineptitude, that I'm old as well.

    NBD

In the '70s I had a car painted about that color, maybe a bit less sparkle, but close, a '78 or '79 Nova, I forget which, man I wish I still have that car, but... Super cool bass!

Can”t hear any bass at live shows anymore

There are only two bands, who I have seen many times since way back in the '70s, where the bass sound has always been articulate and prominent in the mix. 1. Rush (Of Course) 2. Kiss Most other shows, I completely agree with the OP, the bass is just part of a homogenized singular sound along...

How many basses do you own? (Currently) Part 2

I would say "too many," but~ A. That would be boasting, and... B. We all know that in the bass world there is really no such thing as "too many."

NBD - EBMM Bongo 6 HS

Of the millions of pertinent things to say about a new bass, I just have to say, wow, that purple really pops, love it!

    Could i play a fretless?

You may not be a virtuoso right off the bat, but most anything new needs to be learned and perfected. There is positively no reason you should not be able to play fretless well given time and a bit of practice. Sidebar: Fretless opens a new world of sound possibilities that you should really...

    Stingray Controls Not Responding

Can't say you are wrong, I can only say it has worked for me for many years, with no ill-effects. I suppose if one were to hose components down with too much product or use the wrong version of the spray it could well do as you say. I can only testify to what has worked well for me.

    Show Your Spoiled Dog Pictures.

    Ampeg SVT-48HE cab

I second that, cones are a relatively easy do-it-yourself or just pay someone to fix them. I'm talking re-coning, which appears daunting, but really isn't; I mean if I can do it anyone can... If you are getting the cab for free, you could still buy nice drivers and be ahead of the game.

Tell me you're old without telling me you're old

I've got an original 1883 copy of Orvis' "Fishing with the Fly" somewhere. I'll have to find it and post some of the beautiful full color lithographs of fly lures and fish in it, but for now... Hess Trucks, got one for Christmas every year when I was kid. (This one isn't vintage) (And desk...

Removing a cheap finish on a rare bass

Well, the good news is it looks like you can just remove the top, as it does not appear the back is painted, correct me if I am wrong. I use Citristrip on anything delicate, as, in my experience, it has never melted or damaged plastic, and you can use it indoors, no harsh fumes or bad odor...
