Love ScottsBassLessons.com. Never had famous teacher. Some of my favorites: Richard Davis has the best sound. NHOP is amazing. Jaco is Jaco. Stanley Clark, James Jamerson, Carol Kaye. Of course I don't sound like any of these guys but love to listen to them.
