    If you're willing to get an epoxy fretboard don't forget about the fact the possibility roundwounds (personally I prefer their sound). You might want to take that into consideration since ebony is the only normal finished wood I'd let rounds get close to.

    Currently I'm designing my next TC bass. A 4 string fretted. I'm looking for a very wide variety of sounds, so any pickup recommendations? Usually I go with EMGs but I'm looking for something new.
