SA EQ2 as an fx loop

I just picked up an EQ2 hoping that it would let me independently EQ the second channel when using it as an fx looper. It seems like the 1st channel affects both the dry signal and the fx loop while the 2nd channel does nothing. Is this by design or am I doing something wrong? I'm going bass >...

    Running WD 800 without fan

Thanks for the responses everyone. I’m a gigging musician and unfortunately the fan hum through the speaker is loud enough that it’s been distracting at quiet rehearsals/gigs. It’s slightly sharp C#3, not super epic. I’ll shoot @agedhorse a dm.

    Running WD 800 without fan

Yeah, I thought it was weird too. That’s why I’m curious if anyone else has dealt with the same problem.

    Running WD 800 without fan

Hi all, I recently bought a used WD 800 that I’m in love with, but I can hear the fan through the cab and headphone out (not the DI). I’ve ruled out a microphonic tube. Mesa support suggested leaving the fan disconnected- which does get rid of the hum- but it seems like a hacky solution? Does...

For Sale Brand New J-ROQUE strings Gerold Genssler)

I’ve had J-Roque D and G for years and they sound great under the bow. With the new formula they feel similar to raw gut. The D string on my current set has a really low sweet spot compared to the G string that takes a while to get used to.

    SOLD Upright 7/8 German Bass w/Lion scroll; late 19th century - $17500

I had the opportunity to play this bass a few months ago and boy is it incredible. Playing this thing is effortless. I had to put it from my mind for a while so I wouldn’t get too restless with my current bass (which I keep telling myself is perfectly fine.) Huge, complicated sound with minimal...

Double Bass Alternative for velvet garbo D and G

The Genssler J-Roque synthetic G and D are similar but pricey. Recently he’s gone back to the velvet core for his synthetic strings, so they’re probably the closest you can get these days. If you’re not willing to spend that much money, I second the EP slaps.

Double Bass Jazzing up My Funny Valentine

Personally, I'm not a big fan of the Bdim(maj7) resolving to Ebmaj7- I think Bmaj7(#5) would work more smoothly. Totally depends on what you're going for, though. I also think that how well subbing in Coltrane changes works is dependent on how you get out of them. In this case I would probably...

    Double Bass New Remic D540

Because of the COVID situation this became more of a recording project. I figured that trying to sync more than two parts together could go horribly wrong, and I liked the sound! It's still a little sloppy in some places, but I'm happy with how it turned out. Thanks for the kind words Ric!

    Double Bass New Remic D540

Here are a few recordings from my junior "recital" that I did with this mic. I think the mic was in the bridge firing up, but it might have been firing down in some of the recordings. The buzzing in some of the tracks is my endpin tip, which I haven't figured out how to fix. ‪Junior Recital -...

    Double Bass I Love You

It's a nice substitution! If you keep the A in mind you get Dbmaj7#5 -> C7b9, which is a cool sound imo. Bill does substitutions like this all the time. His interpretation of All of You on Sunday at the Village Vanguard is a reharm that's really just a bunch of chord substitutions for the...
