May take a while, but I will let you know.

I will be swapping and replacing some components to make it more reliable and " better". Still beats an 1500 Euro used SVT CL anyway. Till now.

Yes, It's a weak link in the amp. Electronic components are not the best, better parts and some elbow grease and it sounds great.

update. It still works great. Changed the valves to EH 6550 platinum. Turned the power on. Standby, nothing. Blown fuse, the one for the infinium system. Lots of fuses in there, long time ago but I believe that it has about 10 fuses internally. Changed fuse, everything is fine. Put the head on...

When you lower the voltage from the b rail, going in to the infinium biasing circuit from 630v to 590v, what would happen according to you, and how much is the plate voltage then?

Since English is not my native language, there could be some kind of misunderstanding.

He put a potmeter before the infinium circuit while powered, increased/ decreased the resistance untill the measured voltage at the plate was acceptable and calculated the value of the resistor needed to lower the voltage. Changed the resistor and so did the plate voltage. My "tech" builds all...

That's right, the infinium circuit recalculates everything, so that system works great. My friend is going to put in some orange drops or Mallory's and also a few new condensators. Just to make it more stable and quieter. At the moment maximum amount of output is about 35w per valve. It's the...

According to my friend, this is a schematic from an old Gretsch amp that almost resembles the bvv, but I'm not a tech.

After turning the power on, everything is going fine. After a while, when the amp was warm, the volume dropped dramatically and had a lot of overdrive. When turning it off and back on again it was okay for a few minutes. When turning down the volume on my bass or keeping it silent, it happened again.

Less power going in, less power to to 6550 has Max plate 600 volts and my amp was at 632v, so that's too much. That's why my friend tuned down the voltage going in before the biasing infinium circuit. 580v on the plates, that's all I can tell you. I'll ask him if he can write everything down...
