well I've always powered virtually everything up off 1 switch... but I do turn off my monitors off first and on last... never had a problem and I have way more gear than the OP... digi002, synths, compressors, effects units etc

I think the neck of the newer one will be thinner IIRC they changed the neck profile in 2006 or so but I remember playing one in the late 90s (not sure how old it was, guess mid 90s) and the neck was thinner than my 2005 4003 or at least how I remember it

I think OK Computer pre dates the Kaoss pad by a bit so it's not on the recorded version (OKComputer was recorded in 96/97) they definitely do have Kaoss Pad(s) and may be using this live for Karma Police... they are definitely using it to sample Thom's voice during some of the KidA/Amnesiac...

you still need either Digidesign or MAudio (owned by Digidesign) hardware to run ProTools if you are using cubase and want to collaborate with PT users export each track full length and then import these into PT

I'd look at getting a decent pre amp instead of changing the interface..
