I couldn't love this beauty any more than I do. I still get chills every time I pick it up. Chris is an artist. Every detail is perfect.

Club Stambaugh - Show your Stammies!! [Part 6]

Update: I had a custom pick guard made for the most adored instrument of all time. I fondle it for 5 hours a day, and it isn’t enough. I think I’ve had it for close to a year now? NEVER goes out of tune and sustains for days. Seriously, the wenge/maple thru-neck just doesn’t give sh*t about...

Club Stambaugh - Show your Stammies!! [Part 6]

Yep, couldn’t bear to wait on the global lack of Nordy supply, so I listened to the universe and got the Agulars. I was on the fence anyway. I’m really impressed with the variety of tones in the DCBs. All the frequencies are there to be played around with. That’s all you can ask from a pickup!

Sorry for the double post, but I think this might be her best angle. Plays like butter. So easy to make clean tones all over the board. Love the Aguilar DCBs, too.

Club Stambaugh - Show your Stammies!! [Part 6]

This guy Chris is the real deal. I’m jealous that he has a job that can bring this much joy to someone. I am deeply, deeply in love with this guitar. It’s my favorite thing I’ve ever owned. Worth every penny and more. I know y’all think your Stammy is the prettiest. You are wrong. Mine is. Sorry.

No flat wound strings allowed with fretted basses?

Finally someone said it. Don’t get me started on the “tonewood” thing for an electric bass. I’ve given up explaining that what people call “resonance” on an electric instrument is just energy loss as far as the string is concerned. There’s no point in making any argument based on physics with...

No flat wound strings allowed with fretted basses?

Bass strings are not made of Kryptonite. They obey the laws of physics. Don’t fear de-burring of machined metal. You will not open a wormhole.

No flat wound strings allowed with fretted basses?

Relax. We are talking about light deburring with extremely fine steel wool for a few strokes. There’s no way you could change the roundness. Do it before installing the strings so there’s no dust. The strings aren’t cutting (duh), they are just a little rough. Sheesh. I’ve done this for years...

No flat wound strings allowed with fretted basses?

Personally, string noise from rounds always really bugs me when I hear it on any bass (squeaks don't belong in the bass register!). To me, the perfect balance between eliminating string noise and still having some overtones to play with is the GHS Bright Flats. People complain about the...

Club Stambaugh - Show your Stammies!! [Part 6]

Nordstrand Dual Coils with coil switch. That's all we are waiting on. I'm about to drive to California and camp outside Cary Nordstrand's house so I can be there when the pups are ready!
