I thought about an envelope filter pedal. But I realized that a wah-pedal was better for me and the music I'm playing. So think about that, what are you gonna use the pedal (and effect) for. An envelope filter is great, but it's an effect you can't contol... With a wah you can.

If it's Chris Squier's sound you're after simply try to do pinched harminics while playing with a pick. I'm pretty sure that's his own explanation to his sound. That and the fact that his Rickenbacker has been modified through the years.
