Well if you are playing into a DI i agree that on board preamps and active bass guitars are overkill in my opinion. You could achieve the same purpose plugging your bass into a SansAmp Preamp DI box Or Even a Behringer V Tone bass Driver DI into a bass amp or mixing console will give you...
