How to handle other players unpreparedness? Rehearsal is for rehearing the songs!

For me, showing up unprepared for rehearsal has never been acceptable, starting with my middle school band. You can spot the people who picked up the instrument later in life as opposed to being singled out and chided in a roomful of 70 people at age 12. To the OP, the only thing you can...

How do you feel about having guests at rehearsals?

I went to an audition and the wives and girlfriends club were all there. We went through two songs and then they came up and started going through the upcoming gig dates and where. Once I realized who was running that show, I just excused myself and left.

Noisy fan on ampeg micro vr

Not to detract from the convo, but what bag is that? I, too, own one of these fanless thingamabobs.

Sweetwater Might Be In Hard Times

I'm not sure if Sweetwater is in trouble, but the USPS might be. Looking forward to that Sweetwater candy...eventually?

    Buying online on Thomann store.

Speaking for myself, it's improved at the individual level. I like and use Glockenklang. Buying a preamp 25 years ago was an odyssey, I ended up having to drive to Erie, Pa to find a bank capable of processing the international wire transfer of funds. Fast forward to the last Glock cab I...

Pop culture largely ignores late 90's - 00's music....

I would welcome some change up - any change up - on my local classic rock station. The corporate lists they follow takes bands with extensive catalogs and distills them down to one song, the two exceptions being Stairway to Heaven and Hotel California, of course. Those two songs are played a...

Looking for a high quality instrument cable thats supple and light.

I use Mogami with G & H plugs like others here. (W2524 to be exact.) The one cable Mogami makes that lacks the flexibility is their platinum. I have one and it's a bit stiffer.

New Seymour Duncan Powerstage 700 BASS

It's funny that you mention Quilter, who initially teased their new product out as a small form power amp before deciding to roll out a bass head, (which also had similar statements about how it could be used as a stand-alone power amp.) I was in the small camp that was disappointed at the...

Class D - where are the graphic EQs?

My local store had a special order SWR Mr. Tone that I was too dirt poor to buy. That thing was glorious.

New MXR ROCKMAN X100 PEDAL coming from DUNLOP!!!!

+1. I have the 3rd party-made Rockmount for mine, which has an unbalanced line out so I'm having to add a Radial DI to the mix. I'd love a one pedal solution.

New MXR ROCKMAN X100 PEDAL coming from DUNLOP!!!!

I still have my Bass Rockman, I also used to use an X200 back in the day. I'll be interested to see how the two clean channels sound on this. The current headphone offerings aside, I'm open to whatever MXR wants to put out in pedal form here.

Ready for the Ice Storm ?

+1, I usually go down to my local Walmart neighborhood store on Sunday, but I took a look at the parking lot and just decided to get a pizza for the football games. I'll go back down tomorrow and see what's left on the shelves. It might be down to Spam and off brand peanut butter.

I’ve decided I’m with Jeff Berlin: tweeters don’t belong in bass cabs

The one tweeter or ...driver?? Unsure what it was exactly - anyways, the one in my Glockenklang Space Art cabinet. It was so smooth, it just naturally extended the range without being harsh. I should have held onto that thing. I kept the non-art Glock cab and I'm not a fan of the regular...

Confused with preamp into power amp setup... Help!

+ 1 My 1980's Rockman Bass line out drives this amp just fine at the 0.775 setting.

Confused with preamp into power amp setup... Help!

For the price point, these are great. Stereo/Bridge, adjustable HPF/LPF and there's two input sensitivity settings. Mine runs whisper quiet, I couldn't say the same for my old, (but trusty) MX 1500.
