Well. Not easy to send back - bought if from the US….. will update once the guitar doc has checked it out. Hoping for a loose earth. Suspecting a shielding issue.

Purchased a cheap ground lift box to see if any diff and still too noisy (wuth and without the dimmer lights on) So booked it in for a luthier hospital visit on Friday

Yes indeed but…. I have somewhat complicated by purchasing from the US so popping it back to the shop not a great option!

Thanks - going to take it to Stuart - in Doncaster my trustworthy luthier. He will find tirnissue and bullet proof it I’m sure. I’ll post the results and ping G&L with an offer to cover the costs ( apart from my 5 hour drive and 3 hours wait I expect !)

So Update I've booked it in to my friendly luthier for a copper makeover. (though I will aslo ask him to check pots nd ID any other poss causes) Ridiculous I should have to do this for a new bass but I bought it from the US so can't send it back easily Also noticed that turnoing off...

Yes when I touch the strings it’s less obvious. Though actually still an underlying unpleasant Under the hood you mean on the guitar - under the scratch panel.? Not checked that - am I looking for a bad earth conn there?

Hello New user here with a problem I hope someone can help with I have a brand new g&L 2500. - it's my first serious bass and plays lovely But there's a horrible noise when I plug it in - sounds like a ground loop issue but the ground-lift on my amp does not solve it Any quick advice...
