New Guy, looking for feedback on potential rig

I’m auditioning a rumble 200 this weekend, I read that with a 115 below it it’s a force to be reckoned with. New for a used price with a return policy so we’ll see what happens. even the full stack is cheaper than a $500 head and any decent cab so that’s more money for pedals. I was thinking...

New Guy, looking for feedback on potential rig

So much to think about, appreciate all the responses. Just saw this in the classifieds: For Sale - Schroeder PL 2x8 Punch Line Bass Cabinet - Price Drop! That plus the quilter, thoughts? I have to say there are a ton of cheap 4x10s around, if I sacrifice portability I could build a nice rig...

New Guy, looking for feedback on potential rig

This is interesting!! Budget would ideally be under 1000. Any other TBers use powered cabs? As a Quilter guy I don’t mind ss preamps and that would bring the cost down slightly.

I agree the double 2x10 makes for a sweet modular rig. Any worries on the svt cabs only being 200w each?

The guitar amps are SS. Sorry I haven't learned how to multi quote on this board yet. I don't own the Rumble. I do love my Quilter Superblock guitar heads, perhaps I'll look into a BB800. Bonus it can be a backup power amp. Would love some cab suggestions for this thing.

How do we feel about the new 800 instead?

New Guy, looking for feedback on potential rig

Hey all, New to bass and and TB. After reading around quite a bit and thinking about budget, I'm looking for feedback on a potential rig: Trace Elliot Elf Ampeg SVT 210AV Use case I know is important. Jams in a barn with 25-50w guitar amps, not cranked. Close quarters. Potential seedy dive...

The Official Short Scale Bass Club -- Part 4

Labella flats on the Hb mustang to finish off any changes I make to it. It’s a lovely thing.

Here's a "kid tugging at my pants leg" demo. Starts off both pickups full up Then dial bridge down to 75% Then bridge off Then series Series mode is way ballsier and darker. Sounds quite useful.

That makes it easy, shouldn’t be an issue, just don’t expect anything too complex! I’m interested to hear what you think of the fender junior vs the HB, as the junior was on my list.

The Official Short Scale Bass Club -- Part 4

Thanks! I can try for tomorrow. Recording will likely be either direct or thru a GarageBand amp as all my playing time is at night when the younger ones are sleeping. I’ve got a bit of a tin ear when it comes to this kind of thing, only starting on bass recently. I can certainly perceive an...

The Official Short Scale Bass Club -- Part 4

Return window closed! I converted to vvt with a series push push on the new knob. I retain neck volume in series so I can go from neck only to series with just the push. Had ten seconds to test it but sounds good overall. Can’t wait until the SS flats come in tomorrow. followed this schematic...

Plenty of room for a switch between the two pots IMO. Just need to decide which kind. Or go double concentric like my jazz. Leaning towards converting to vvt with a series push push.

The Official Short Scale Bass Club -- Part 4

Tiny compared to my jazz bass! It’s single tone and volume, period. No blend or pickup selectors. The pots don’t feel cheap, the neck is very comfortable and the bridge while some cheap brand seems good enough. Graphite nut! Thumb on the side of the neck sounds too necky if that makes any...

The Official Short Scale Bass Club -- Part 4

Well the HB mustang arrived! This thing is tiny! And I love it so far. much like an esquire I’m finding lots of tonal variety just by altering where I pick. So much so that I think moving the thumb rest above the strings is on my first “to do”.
