Its the unmistakably Maurice sound, you're attention is immediately drawn to the bass, but I've never had any real idea how he did it, I'm sure someone will have an idea on how that sound was produced who is more knowledgeble on bass overdrive, I guess it would be just through the normal methods.

Big fan of Paul McCartney was Maurice.:) He's playing it but its backed up by pre recorded bass, I thought it showed how he played quite clearly though. The medleys always require various types of sound to be coming from the same bass with the Bee Gees which is a bit of a pain I imagine...

Here's a video showing Maurice playing some bass in 1997, something of a rarity, he only really played bass in the 90's during medleys, like this. Most of the video thats just Maurice, you can see his technique quite well I reckon.
