I quite like the switches, actually. I'm sure a blend would be nice, but I like that limitation of on/off-series/parallel.

Yes, I'm adding both. I couldn't think of what to put in the upper horn if I remove the preamp controls from there, and I think having a bass cut can have its uses in a band setting, depending on the venue and what not. It's also just for fun.

From what I understood in the end, the Single NFP is always on, and the push/pull just controls whether there's a resonant peak or not. I decided to not modify the Single NFP, and instead add a bypass to the passive treble and bass controls I'm going to add on the upper horn. So the signal...

Aaah, I see. I thought there was a separate toggle, and the push pull changed the boost of the peak. Makes sense then to move it to the upper horn. Thank you!

So glad you replied so quickly! Correct, that's what I want to do. I really like the sound of a filter preamp, and while I could maybe route out some space for the Lusithand under the vol/tone control plate, I didn't want to have the upper control plate just for show. I don't think I'd want to...

    The Fender Jaguar Club

Hello! 2025 is the year for my Jaguar. I've already got some parts coming to make it look nicer and fix some wiring. I wanted to ask @Evilheim specifically, if this makes any sense: I'd like to replace the tone knob with a Lusithand Single NFP preamp, and instead wire the upper horn control...

Right, I finally managed to get a full set of control plates (pre-amp, pickup selector, and volume/tone) from AllParts, and unluckily, they aren't the same shape as the original MIJ J-Craft Jaguar. I'm never selling this bass, so I'm thinking I fill the original holes with toothpicks and...

Carbon Fiber Tuning Keys and Bridges from GOTOH

Apologies for resurrecting this very 1-year-dead thread, but has anyone found an EU seller for the tuners? They seem remarkably difficult to source.

How does it work for you? Do all the switches do the original functions? neck/bridge on/off, series/parallel, and most importantly for the preamp, on/off switch? So many of the preamps I've seen are push/pull and I don't have the knowledge or skills to modify that myself.

Slowly gathering parts to get my Jag looking brand new! Had a question about tuners, pickguard, and preamp: The Gotoh GB640 - they ought to fit as a direct drop-in from the Fender ones, correct? I've been reading about them and think I understood that the ones that aren't drop-in replacement...

Looking for J pickups with sharp articulation and good mids.

As much as I liked them, and finding the JHZ which I also liked, they don't seem to have any configurations for 1 master vol 1 + 1 master tone on their wiring diagrams on their website. Since this is for a Jag with pickup on/off switches and a series/parallel switch + 1 vol 1 tone, I want to...

Looking for J pickups with sharp articulation and good mids.

That's surprising. I've only read good things about those since I started looking yesterday. I've been ill all day so I just browsed for pickups all day long. Would you be able to record a short demo? I'd really like to hear these but there aren't any demos online. Thank you for your...

I have to say I'm impressed by those EMGs! I quite like the sound of them. I think now I'm between those and the Lollar B.S. set. Those really blew me away too.

I'd love to hear a demo of these, but cannot find one. Do you know of one?

I had a listen to the Lollar B.S. jazz, and I think they're pretty close to what I want. But it seems nobody has reviewed them anywhere.
