    Struggling with tuning...

I have a korg plug in that is good but also bought a jojo one off eBay after a mate suggested it. It cost the grand total of £1.30 posted from China and works well for a quick check and matches my ear and the Korg.

Owners of multiple basses: anyone else do this?

I have a main one I use most then my old one which lives at work (and a practice amp) so I can practice with mates there without taking anything in specially.

When did you become a bassist?

Things are moving rapidly for me at the moment, started playing a couple of months ago, started practising with a couple of mates at work a few weeks back and now have pur first (mini) gig booked for a works social. Only playing a few Christmas numbers but very exciting all the same!

    Ohms FAQ

Thanks, that's what I suspected. The linked manual is the same as the one I have been through and there is no mention of anything except the use of line out for p.a. Looks like I will be saving up.......

    Ohms FAQ

Apologies if this is a newbie stupid question, it I have a Marshall bass state b150 and would like to add a cabinet to my set up. Is the amp in the combo up to powering this as well? Would it be up to a 400w cabinet or would I be better to look at a separate head unit? If so I presume I just...

When did you become a bassist?

I know we all keep learning as long as we live, but when did you consider yourself as being able to play as opposed to just learning? I am still well in the learning phase but wondered what others thought? So was it when you could play most/ anything put in front of you? When you could hear a...

No politics on this forum...this of all years?

The trouble is that it doesn't stay rational, it gets personal, heated and often just downright nasty. And that happens on each and every forum I have used where it's allowed. It's just my personal experience and opinion. As I said, I new here so not up to me.

No politics on this forum...this of all years?

I am new here but having seen the trouble they cause on other forums I would say it's not worth the hassle.

What Has Been The Most Helpful Thing For Your Learning?

Very much a beginner The Internet, and this site in particular, has been a massive help BUT knowing superb musicians (admittedly not predominately bass players) is a real help. When little things are puzzling it's useful to be able to just a question with the bass right there. Learning some of...

    best rock singer?

Bob Mould for me, closely followed by Andy Cairns, but love the weird energy of John Lydon in his sex pistols days as well.

    Hi

I have only been learning the bass for two weeks but have found so much useful info on here already I decided to sign up. I am 44 and have never played before but have always wanted to. I decided to bite the bullet after a recent flare up in my inflammatory arthritis. I appreciate this may sound...
