I'm pretty much at my wits end with the band leader of my band and I'm starting to consider throwing the towel

The drummer pretty much just rehearses with us so he's not very exposed to the drama. The LG is also very frustrated with Jack but is not very exposed with Tony's shenanigans. I did notice, on the studio, he pretty much ignores Tony. I myself have started cutting him off my mix because he keeps...

I actually told him this exact thing in one of our discussions. Between family and friends I know quite a few teachers and I recognize the "teacher mode". If a student comes to a lesson unprepared he gets a earful but ultimately they proceed with the lesson (basically doing what the student...

True, this had a lot more detail than needed. To be honest, I needed to get this off my chest to someone who could relate to some of it.

Not really. They worked on seasonal jobs that required them to move a lot. We quickly realized it wasn't going to work out so we split ways.

The problem with Jack is that you have a serious conversation with him and he ears you, acknowledges your concerns and totally agrees. But then shows he didn't get anything and repeats the same mistakes over and over. I feel that trying to take more control of the band is the only way this could...

OK, this is going to be a long one. For more context, it can help to read my previous post about our rhythm guitarist, Tony. What I mention there is important for this story. Lets call the band leader Jack. Jack is the one who invited me to the band. Jack is a very talented singer and...

Tired of being the chaffeur and I have put my foot down. Somebody ever went through something similar?

As also an ex-smoker, I know what you mean. When I bought my car new I had friends wondering how much I was making (I don't make much). I asked them how much they were spending on cigarettes. It was pretty much my monthly car payment. Paid it off in 3 years.

He has money for other luxury expenses (smoking, gym). It makes no sense for bandmates to coddle him like this. But if the singer wants to be his sponsor it's not my business. Regarding his contribution...he's a very good classically trained guitar player but has made no effort to fit in our...

Yeah, I can see this coming. Even if he says nothing he will resent me. But if I share the load just once I'll quickly become the taxi again. I really have to keep a clear boundary. I told him there's no need to pick him up, he has a bus to my house. Now he needs to learn the hard way.

Read the new edit. Some people need to learn the hard way... 🙄

I play with a band in a small town east of my own city (major city). I live in the east suburbs of my own city, right before city limits and it's a 20 minute ride to the rehearsal room. I just leave my house and I'm already on the road to the next town. One of my bandmates, let's call him Tony...

What's the best choice for sound output for live playing using a VST?

I usually play Bass using my PC and interface with Amplitube 5. At home I'd use headphones since the sound with computer speakers sucks as much as you'd expect. Recently I started playing with a band. I got a powered speaker laying around (theBox MA-100 Mark II). I connected it to my interface...
