Thanks - just to clarify, my idea is to use a 5-string (fretless) neck to give me more room to spread out the 4 strings, as I have big hands. The odd time I've tried playing a 5-string, I found the spacing was way too close, it would require a lot of getting used to. I mostly play upright.
