Tejas Thumper

My first electric, stringed, home made. It is a lap steel that I built from an old piece of cherry wood I have been keeping for a special project for years. P.S. It sounds great with a little crunchy reverb.

I have been building / repairing / collecting string instruments for around 10 years as an add on to my other wood working and wood carving hobbies. But the strange part is I never learned to play. So about 2 months ago at the age of 56 I started taking lessons from the music therapist at the VA.... I started with bass. And here I am.
