    2023 Sadowsky Metro Express Basses

Just upgraded (finally!) my Fender Marcus Miller with the Sadowsky preamp. I love the VTC so much that now I'm probably going to put a VTC into the Metro Express JJ. 😎

Fender Marcus Miller IV - preamp

Hi friends. I know this is probably an age-old question by now, but what do you reckon is the best replacement preamp for the MIJ Marcus Miller four-string bass? This is a bit embarrassing - about 12 years ago, my luthier at the time bypassed the original preamp which had died ( was making a...

SOLD Lakland USA JO-5 Dan Lakin Era

Wow what a beauty. If I hadn't just moved interstate, taken over a cafe and nearly blown all my dough,I would be making an offer! At least I still have my JO4, one of my absolute gigging basses.

Crackling noise on Fender Marcus Miller

An intermittent crackling noise is coming out of my Fender MM, it seems to be happening more frequently. It's not the instrument lead because I have plugged a few leads in including my best one which I gig with, and the same thing happens. The noise happens even when the bass is perfectly still...

Any 5 string Players happy going back to 4 String bass?

+1 . Did a local Christmas carols gig the other night using my Roadworn P IV - after doing a covers gig the week before with Lakland V. Comfortable with both. You do get used to the switching. I love the flexibility and tonal range of different basses, including between four and five string. :)
