I've been playing bass since I was in 7th grade (12 years old), and use my father's old '74 Fender Jazz (aka my baby). I have played in bands of many different styles and sizes. I am always trying to learn more about technical prowess on the fretboard and music theory applications, as well as bettering my use of effects pedals and restraint (both with effects and playing in general). I want to absorb as much information about bass as possible and truly understand all there is about the piece of wood I cherish so much. I've learned a lot already but I know I have a lifetime more to achieve. Any and all advice/stories/experiences that people have to share will be appreciated!
