When did you realize you were a bassist?

I don’t know if my story is any different than anyone else’s, but I always felt that for me personally is I couldn’t understand the language of a guitar. As much as I tried, the guitar never felt like my native language. But when I played bass for the first time, I felt like, yes, this I understand.

"Real rock" bassists to listen to. Looking for recommendations

In general, musical terms (I.e. rock, blues, jazz, etc.) mean diffferent things to different people diffferent pairs of ears. I could call AC/DC hard rock, rock, metal, or blues. "Real rock" bassists to listen to. Looking for recommendations

On Eddie Trunk’s old TV show I remember when they picked the top 5 hard rock/metal bassists. I don’t remember the exact order but they were Geezer Butler, Steve Harris, Geddy Lee, Cliff Burton, and Billy Sheehan. I was able to see all 5 live.

I played the MIJ Geddy years ago at Guitar Center when I bought my son his first bass and loved how it played. I didn’t have to money to buy so I could only dream about it. Rickenbacker 4003 or Fender Jazz?

I own the MIA Geddy Lee Jazz and I love it. Just be aware that the necks on the MIJ and MIM Geddy Lee and the MIA Geddy Lee have slightly different necks. I didn’t know that when I ordered my Geddy. I took me a good setup at my music shop and a little time to really love it.

Help! I’m About to Buy My “Holy Grail” Bass and I Don’t Need It

If it doesn’t hurt you or your family financially, go for it. You can always sell it if you decide differently later. You might actually make money on it or not. With the COVID situation we are all going through, life is too short not to treat ourselves if we can

Is my friend a bad person?

As long as it doesn’t effect your family’s financial well being in any way, it’s ok.
