Which vintage? The newest versions seem to favor ply, while rumor has it that older versions used actual solid wood. I have no idea when this change took place.

Trying to track down a short-scale (30"-31") 5 string acoustic bass guitar. It appears such a thing does not exist except in a custom build, but thought that someone here might have an idea? Currently playing a Guild B240EF at 30.75" which plays well enough, but would really love a 5er strung...

I actually like the D'Addarios but they seem to lack expressiveness, at least to my ears. How would you contrast the difference between the two? Are the Jazz Flats lower tension than the D'Addarios?

Yes, no believe the electrics are fine. As it turns out, the second battery I tried was below working voltage. Finally got a fully charged 9V in there at the piezo tone pot is functioning as it should.
