Interesting. With both knobs at 5, I can probably hear it from 20 feet away (I'm pretty sure my cable is 10 feet and it is relatively loud even 10 feet away, so I'm sure I could hear it at 20). When both knobs are set to 3, I start hearing it around 5 feet away. I noticed it at my last show...

The 4x10 can handle 1000W and the amp puts out 800W at 8 ohms (which is what the cab is). So what you're saying is that I should keep the Power Amp Control knob at or below half to keep everything happy and then I can play with the Master knob to my heart's content (within reason, of course)...

So a few weeks ago I got an Avatar 4x10 cab and the Carvin BX1200 (it's my first not combo amp, couldn't be happier). I do have a question about how the split master volume and "power amp control" knobs work. I know to keep the master volume lower than half, which is certainly no problem...
