    If you can get the Audient id4, it's a fantastic. There's a few other choices in that price range like the Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 (3rd Gen), Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (3nd Gen) and Native Instruments Komplete Audio 2. Check out this audio interface guide as well.

    Perhaps a refurb MPB might be suitable - just make sure it's got enough RAM and the SSD hasn't worn down! Why not look at getting a PC? For example this budget PC build comes in at under $550, and you'll be able to upgrade at a later stage.
