    Yah I'm not sure about this hipster/flatwound issue. My friends may call me a hipster but I choose flat wounds for their tone.

    I recently discovered the magic of flatwounds when I was playing this vintage Musicmaster at Guitar Center. I have now put them on all my basses and couldn't be happier.

    Ever break a string?

    The only time I've ever broke a string is when I first changed the strings on my Ibanez starter bass by tuning the string too tight. Never broken a string playing though cause I play kinda soft.
