I have a pair of Sure SE215s that I use. I can't remember what I paid for them but I don't think they were too pricey. The big thing with any IEMs is getting a good seal in your ear. I can quickly tell if I have that by how well the bass sounds. They make quite a variety of sleeves to go on...

I used a stand for printed chord charts for years. Later I used my tablet instead of printing them out. But my worship leader pushed me to start memorizing the songs a couple of years ago. I didn't like the idea at first but now I love playing/worshiping without any distractions. I don't even...

It sounded great for the style of music they played. And it looks perfect for their band too (don't miss the washboard on the drummer). Sorry, though, it won't be going on my GAS list. :-)

Song list for Sunday: Chain Breaker Holy Spirit This I Believe We are in a transition. Our WL (vocals & guitar) is leaving to start a new church plant. We are a small church and our team was him, a female vocalist, a drummer and me on bass. We have another fellow who can fill in on guitar...

This was kind of a Cajun band that was playing in our arts district a few weeks back. I had never seen a bass like this before.

I have been away from TB and this thread for almost 2 years. Trying to figure the Android App out. Hello everyone.

I am off today at my home church. We have another member who is playing bass for the first time at our church today. It will be nice if he works out. Ironically, when I arrived last night to play at the other church I fill-in at, they asked if I knew of any bass players that could fill-in for...

Trying to catch up...we have been on vacation. I see several posts regarding IEMs and being able to "feel" the low end. I have the fortunate situation at our church of standing about six feet in front of our subwoofer while wearing my IEMs. So I get the best of both worlds. I even located a...

That's me also. I used a pick yesterday on Soul On Fire. It just feels right and I have seen video showing the bass player using a pick for that song.

A little late getting our song lists in for the weekend. Tonight's song list: You Are My Vision Everlasting God How Great Is Our God How Great Thou Art We had WL prospect come in and lead tonight. I thought he did quite well. Especially when he only got to run us through what he wanted just...

I played four strings for a lot of years before I got my first five this past spring. I love it. Like others have said it's more than just five lower notes. Drop-D tuning can't match it. I wish I had changed sooner.

My acoustic fretless also has lines. I can't imagine playing without them. I actually enjoy playing acoustic once in awhile. We do it from time to time when it's just the WL and me.

Song list for tonight: Hosanna (Praise Is Rising) (G) Blessed Be Your Name (G) Before The Throne (C) Nothing But The Blood (G) I don't know who the worship leader will be tonight. This is the church that I am filling in at and that had the worship leader resign suddenly. Song list for...

Wrapping cords: I learned how to braid (wrap) climbing rope as a teen when we were into spelunking (caving) and rappelling. I have been using it on cords ever since.

I fall in the camp of seeking to play in the key that works best for both the vocalist and the congregation. In most cases there should be a happy compromise in there somewhere. At my home church we are quite often a step down from the original but could be as much as a half step higher...
