    Fender Rumble Club

Got the cover yesterday and couldn't be happier. I ended up going with an outfit called Custom Amp Covers in MI. They make a hell of a nice 30 oz. basic cover that fits like a glove and looks great, too. Don't know if we're supposed to post direct links for stuff like that but I have it if...

    Fender Rumble Club

Got to try it out Saturday night - outdoor stage plopped in the middle of a sand lot. I was quite impressed with the presence of the thing and heard all sorts of tones that were missing from the Ampeg, although I was a lot closer to the Rumble than I usually am to the Ampeg, so that may have...

    Fender Rumble Club

My Ampeg B15-T did a nose dive onto concrete (the original/optional heavy duty drop cover was on but it was still a rough fall) a couple of weeks ago and was starting to miss a beat or two intermittently, so I thought I'd best acquire a spare while it was in the shop. Got a Rumble 200 v3 at the...

    Guesses, anyone?

Ran across this rather lovely Guild B50NT (1977, according to the SN) with what appears to be a well installed aftermarket pre-amp and pickup. Only problem is, I can't figure out who made the preamp or pickup. Not too concerned about the pickup because it sounds so good but I'd kind of like to...

    Ampeg B-15T

While I'm here, I thought I'd mention this - my EVM15L speaker in this amp gave up the ghost a while back, requiring repair. Had it re-coned/reconditioned via Telex Communications in Arkansas, which is (or was at the time, anyway) apparently the authorized facility for EV speakers these days...

    John Parrish (John Persh)

I still test a new bass with the intro to John's solo on "Get Ready."

    Replacement speaker for Traynor Bloc80B

Just ran across this old thread while trying to find out what kind of speaker was installed in these amps. I've had one since the late 80s and have used it in duo/trio gigs as a bass amp and as a keyboard amp in larger groups. Always DIed or miked it for bigger rooms and have never had a...

Need a good bass/drums instrumental song

Dennis Coffey and the Detroit Guitar Band, 1971 on the Sussex label (SUX226A). Lots of fun for everyone.

    Hofner basses.....not worth it?

    I like that! :-)

There's a humbucking pickup under the hand rest. There are small black plastic shims/spacers under the ears on the hand rest, where the screws go through. I've seen examples of those basses where the owner has moved the chrome rest south, so that it winds up covering the bridge rather than...

1967, all original except for the toggle cap. The Gibson historian I spoke with some years ago regarding this bass told me they called these the "EB2DC," which stood for "electric bass, 2 pickups, double cutaway." That's still easier to remember than the "official" name for my 335, which is...

    Ampeg B-15T

Heck, someone from "a major musical instrument retailer" told me the same thing when I was in looking for a backup amp a few years ago. It's remarkable how much misinformation is passed along by alleged professionals. :-P

Current image link for what was originally there. How come we can remix and reissue The Beatles and The Stones but we can't edit for a new image source? :-þ

Aha! Another BT-15. They remind me of some of the Silvertone solid state amps from the early 70s. I'm not 100% sure but I think you get extra blues rep points for the funky basement aroma...as long as you never play any Archies or 1910 Fruitgum Company stuff through it. :-0
