Hembry Double Neck 5 string bass

I exchanged a few emails with Scott Hembry. He is very helpful. We have agreed that he will give it the TLC it needs and has also agreed to make one neck fretless. I need to consider a few things....do I want to remove the frets from the existing fingerboard, or should I replace with a...

Hembry Double Neck 5 string bass

I do not think there is any other difference. May consider making one fret less. Cannot find a serial number yet; have not dismantled it yet...maybe inside/under something. I think that is a good suggestion. Thanks. trobitaille

Hembry Double Neck 5 string bass

I just picked this up from a local rural pawn shop. I am psyched! I do not know much about it though. It was so unusual, and seemingly such good quality I had to get it. Anyone have any thoughts on how to date it? Value? Desirability? It needs some TLC, but in great shape.

Wow! This is GREAT information...Thank You. I will need to study this some more. I will do my best to correct my mis-information. Thank you for that as well. My first time, I must have been nervous... The scale length, from nut to bridge is ~34" (~86cm) It is currently tuned BEADGC; but your...
