This helped out alot. Thanks I would have spent days trying to get the sound right and once I inverted the phase on the bridge Mic it really opened up.

Pretty sure that im making the right sound. Bluegrass is mainly what I play and I play a 1967 kay c1 that sounds killer for a plywood bass. The more so-called thump I can get the better.

Clarity I guess would be the best word to describe what's missing. Is there a way to utilize compressors etc. To fix this problem?

Just wondering if I could get some input on recording from some other experienced players who have spent time in pro studios. I have stereo miked my bass using a small behringer stuck up through the bridge and a Neumann u87 over the fingerboard but I can't seem to get the sound im looking for...
