Are you kidding me? :D Although i'm new at bass, I played guitar before and I really know how to palm mute. Palm mute only works with fair amount of distortion. If sound is not distorted you won't hear any adequate sound from palm muted strings. And yeah, the notes in those songs are not really...

Right now i'm practicing Def Leppard songs and there are alot of staccato going on. As far as I know Rick Savage always plays with a pick. I'm having problems with these songs: Let's Get Rocked - can play staccato but only on fretted notes by lifting fretting fingers up fast. Open string notes...

Granted, it's easy to memorise which notes to play on these songs but to play them with perfect timing is really hard to me at this stage. I'd probably say that Sugar is hardest because of slow tempo 84bpm which means large spacing between notes (almost always quarter notes there). I tend to go...
