I am not sure what the wood is. As I said earlier, I am the second owner of it.. it is in pristine condition though. I tried to look it up through fender but was not able to find an answer. Pine is pretty soft wood.. but again, I don't know.

I am the second owner. I only have the information that was given to me when I purchased it. You may be right. It might be Ash.. I did verify the serial number with Fender. 9.6 pounds on my scale and 1.6 is what I got with a tape measure.
