Trish began her bass studies at the age of 14 in the public school system with violinist and orchestra director Beverly Schmidt. After only two weeks of study, she had advanced to playing with the high school orchestra. In her first year of study, Trish placed third desk in the district orchestra competition, but because of her freshman status was not permitted to advance. Continued studies throughout high school lead her to becoming a section member of the Warren County Symphony Orchestra, and involved in multiple regional and state orchestra festivals.
Trish continued her studies at Duquesne University under the tutelage of Jeffrey Turner, (Principal Bass, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra). She has also been a student of Curtis Burris (National Symphony), Patricia Dougherty (Metropolitan Opera Orchestra), Tracy Rowell (Apollo’s Fire) and Alan Bartram (Del McCoury Band).
Trish has served as a section member of the California Philharmonic Orchestra and World Civic Orchestra, currently performs in the section of the Butler (PA) Symphony Orchestra, and has graced the stages of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Avery Fisher (now David Geffen) Hall, Heinz Hall, and Carnegie Hall.
In recent years, Trish has expanded her repertoire beyond the classical genre. She is well-versed in and regularly performs bluegrass, blues, country, and American folk music.
In addition to classical engagements, Trish is a member of The Grant Street Grifters, Charlie Hustle and the Grifters, and Molly AlphabetBand. She has also appeared and recorded with Shelf Life String Band, Joe McGuinness and Emily Pinkerton.
