Thanks guys, I will continue diagnosing/investigating. At the moment my working assumption is its caused by extraterrestrial life is using my address as a homing beacon. I will post an update here when I have one. (I will kick myself if it turns out it is my phone causing the hum!)

Hi guys. Ive tried switch every plug off; every circuit breaker, and mains electric to the house off. The hum is still there!! o_O Perhaps afault with the device itself? Im reluctant to buy another one in case the device is fine and something else is causing the hum. :|
