That finish... I think I may need some time alone with these pictures.

Thoughts on 34+ scale on 4 string?

I would be interested in a longer scale 4 string. I often use C standard or sometimes B standard for stoner rock and metal and don't have the use for the extended range a 5 string offers and I prefer the thinner neck that a 4 string usually offers.

    Geddy Lee Basses

I see the black tort is a popular choice for Geddy Lee basses. However, mine came this way and I am not a huge fan. Probably return it to white or most likely get a solid black guard. There are many reasons why I chose this bass. First, Geddy Lee is the reason I play the bass so naturally I...

Ibanez GSR205B 5-String Electric Bass Guitar Black

I have an older version of this bass without the preamp. It was my stepsister's at one point but I decided to try it before buying my own bass when I first started playing. Really the only reason I got a new bass after playing this is simply because I prefer 4 strings. It is a great bass...

Differences between Fender Jazz Bass American Standard and Deluxe?

I don't know if it is racist but it is certainly stupid.

Differences between Fender Jazz Bass American Standard and Deluxe?

Roscoe basses are also much more expensive than a Fender. And this is what I think a real bass should sound like. Really bright and aggressive with lots of growl. That video you posted sounded like a bass trying to make fart noises. If that is what you like, that is perfectly OK. Just don't...

Rush Absolutely STUNS in "Throwback" 70's Set...Rick Doubleneck and Double Bass Return!!!

I didn't read your original post to avoid further spoilers. You can put all you want in the post. I never opened the thread I linked. I saw the title and knew I shouldn't open it. However, your title has one of the basses he uses and I've also only seen that bass used on one particular song...

Rush Absolutely STUNS in "Throwback" 70's Set...Rick Doubleneck and Double Bass Return!!!

Next time don't spoil this in the god damn title. I wanted to be surprised at the show but that isn't going to happen now. Not to mention there is already a thread pertaining to the different basses he is playing during the show. R40 kicking off! Geddy playing different basses! Live Tweets from...

Which of Geddy's Basses Do YOU Like The Most?

I agree with the 4008 for just pure awesomeness. However, I am very happy with my CIJ Geddy Jazz and that seafoam green Jazz is my favorite of his. That matching headstock is great. I also love it when you see Alex using his double neck at the same time.

    NBD: Geddy Lee Jazz

I noticed that as well. I also noticed they didn't have much grip as I was tightening the new strings onto them. As I wound the new strings on, sometimes it would wind back a bit if I was holding onto the string tightly. I may look into replacing them down the line.

So after I encounter no resistance turning the truss rod left I should encounter another point of resistance? Thanks for the link! I've determined it is a 2006-2008.

    NBD: Geddy Lee Jazz

After a year of playing, I decided to upgrade to one of my dream basses. Spotted this in Sam Ash and decided to go for it. It is a CIJ Geddy Lee Jazz bass. Not sure of the year but I'm sure some experts on here could give me an idea. I plan on replacing the pickguard with a white or black one...

    New Geddy Lee signature bridge?

The saddles look different. The ones on the Geddy are pretty much a copy of the BAII trapezoidal blocks that require grooves to be cut whereas the other one looks like it has raised sides so the strings can sit in between them.

    Buying a Headless Double Neck.....

I am far from an expert on this topic, but my gut tells me you might need to expand your budget if you want a quality double neck. However, those aren't too expensive and if you really are into the idea of a bass/guitar doubleneck it might be worth a shot.

NBD - USA Geddy Lee Jazz (video review)

That would be great. May be even his turquoise one with the tort pickguard.
