Double bass

I went to beacock music and asked for solo strings for bass and they said they have no idea what im talking about. I explained what they do and they said my bass can already do that but im 999999% sure i didnt ask for those kinds of strings, i dont think i knew what they even were when i bought...

I have double jointed fingers, which means i can bend the last joint on my fingers without bending any other joints. This has proven to be very hindering because i cant properly curve my fingers on any note above D on the G string. Vibrato is also A MASSIVE ISSUE for me, my fingers either lock...
