I thought about that. Except for the Peg Box, the mating surfaces were already well mated for a butt joint. The Pegbox break was a well fitting jigsaw puzzle which mated well with downward clamping. It also had more surface area for the glue bond. It went back together very well as was.

It's done, and solid. Definitely a beater, but it plays and holds tuning. The old glue was Titebond II. The break was three pieces total. Two large and one sliver (Found the sliver in the gig bag.). Invested 2 hours with a soft wire brush with vinegar and acetone to strip the existing glue. 30...

Thanks, I'm more concerned with removing the old glue. I don't know what kind it is, hopefully water soluble. That's the critical task. If I can match the pieces up tight, I can make it work.
