Never mind, I'll figure it out.

So...no? Or did they rebrand them as "American Originals 50's/60's"? I searched Fender's site and everywhere else I could find before posting.

Does Fender still make these? If not, what is the closest thing currently in production?

What MXR M87 settings to achieve this goal?

I wouldn’t post the question if I didn’t... My amp is in the shop atm so I can’t test it myself.

What MXR M87 settings to achieve this goal?

My main goal with using this compressor is to get similar volume between slap and fingerstyle. So, should I be using it as a limiter with a 20:1 ratio, fastest attack, and fast release, then adjust the input so that I only get gain reduction when slapping hard, but not when playing with fingers...

Are the diameters of rounds and flats roughly equivalent?

Sorry, I could have phrased the title better. I thought it would be obvious that I was asking whether similar diameters of rounds and flats are similar in feel, hence the equivalency.

Are the diameters of rounds and flats roughly equivalent?

I did a lot of listening to YouTube videos earlier and the Labellas seem to be closer to the sound I'm going for than the TIs. I also might be overthinking the tension thing a bit, so I think I'm gonna man up and try the Labella 760FL (.43-.104). They aren't nearly as expensive as the TI Flats...

Are the diameters of rounds and flats roughly equivalent?

Hmm OK, thanks everyone. I feel I have a better understanding of what to do now.

Are the diameters of rounds and flats roughly equivalent?

Yeah I also heard that about the LaBellas.

Are the diameters of rounds and flats roughly equivalent?

I guess I wouldn't mind if the flats had a little less tension, I just don't want more than the 40-100 DRs.

Are the diameters of rounds and flats roughly equivalent?

I've tried both (at 40-100) and they feel pretty much the same to me. I did try the 45-105 low beams though and they were too thick for me.

Are the diameters of rounds and flats roughly equivalent?

I've only ever played rounds. After trying some different sizes I ended up settling on the DR Low/High Beams 40-60-80-100 for my Ibanez SR500. However, I just ordered a Fender Deluxe Precision and I want to put some flats on it to give me some variety for recording. I'm looking at the TI Jazz...

GK 700 RB II being discontinued...alternatives?

GK shipped a new board to the repair shop and they put it in. I picked it up today. The previous problem is gone and it sounds great. Glad to have it back in the studio!

GK 700 RB II being discontinued...alternatives?

Thanks, that's good info. I actually misspoke, it's a 2x12 I'm using with this amp but I get your point about needing to drive it enough to distort to even get the benefits of that bi-amp system. I was probably overthinking the advantages of that anyway. Either way I'll be sticking with GK I...

GK 700 RB II being discontinued...alternatives?

I have no doubt that you can! Thanks for responding. The whole point of going to a local authorized repair place was to avoid paying the shipping to send it across the country, though. Still, had I known what a pain in the ass this would be, I might have done that from the beginning. At any...
